Tide Pool Ecosystem —Day 3 Oak Island

We read this book a few weeks ago so while on vacation I was ecstatic we found ourselves in the middle of a huge tide pool. We were boating through the Intracoastal Waterway with our friends and decided to get out for a swim. In addition to the swim we were able to explore the tide pool. The kids were fascinated that we were standing in a place that is actually underwater during high tide. Our friend helped us identify blue crabs, clams, snails and fish.

We finished the day by checking our Loggerhead turtle nest and discovered 10 more hatching and heading to sea.

Another great day learning about ecosystems and marine life!!
